Hello Most Wanted,
Hopefully you don't mind your clan venue being use for my reply to the locked thread. This will probably be deleted shortly anyways, so if you don't like it, then it will be remedied anyways.
As the COHEXPERTS leader I feel that there was a decent amount of things that were never mentioned in the other thread that clearly illustrates the issues in this situation. The newer members of Reborn and COHEXPERTS alike were responsible for the majority of the postings within that thread when in reality this situation has been brewing for longer than they have been a part of it. Reborn's roster has for the most part changed, so their memory probably doesn't extend as far.
COHEXPERTS is often branded as a troll group, a group of teenage boys with too much time on their hands and only a grease-laden keyboard as a method of divulging their rage towards young boys in England. I'm here to dismiss this firstly. We were not founded in any way, shape, or form to be a troll group. Actually, we were originally formed as a group of individuals who were wrongly taken advantage of by GR (Gamereplays.org, for the newer guys). GR suffers from the same thing COH2.org does now, a single-minded, heavy-handed authority. Even worse, the mindset of GR was that only one meta acceptable and that anything else was trolling. COH2 doesn't have that issue, so that's a small step in the right direction.
We were formed because we liked playing alternative metas and going against the prevailing clans/authorities. Let's look at any competitive sport, game, anything. There are opposing sides and challenges that promote both sides. As a force that fights against the prevailing group, we not only add energy to the community by stirring it up, but we also invigorate others to become a part of it. A good example of this is the thread that was just locked. Can we find another 10 page thread please? As our competition rages on and controversy builds, and people choose sides (or dont), people are going to get into it and enjoy the community more. After all, we're talking about COH aren't we people? None of us played COH for as long as we did because of the game, it was a community for us. Was not a long portion of fun in that game seeing on the loading screen "HelpingHans" or "BaoLiang?" Maybe then you sat on the edge of your seat and said to yourself "Let's do this." First time I played Seb, I sure as hell did (lost too, bummer).
So then why are we such trolls now? Like I said, we're a counterforce. We originally were not trolls (although some claimed our alternative metas made us them, that would entail that about ~75% of COH1 were trolls), and we specifically went for difficult games (sometimes via streamsnipe) because they were more entertaining than smashing noobs. Being that usually we won (hate us or not, we are pretty good) we gathered hate quickly due to the fact that we would seek out this high-level games. Most notably, we gathered this gate from specifically one clan and two individuals at the time, Reborn, ntd, and pepsigolive. What's important to note here is that (like now), Reborn and NTD made up the authority of GR (now coh2.org). Reborn and NTD were friendly with the majority of pro coh players that we would specifically target for games.
So, shortly after our founding, we quickly garnered a lot of hate from this one community of pros which, like now, has a monopoly on the authority on the key COH community website (coh2.org). Interesting to note here, is now they have a monopoly on individuals in contact with Relic as well, a step in a very, very bad direction.
This was the time that we were the ones trolled, harassed, banned, etc. by these individuals on a somewhat regular basis. I won't bring up the details on that, since it is still a subject of debate. However, the point is is that we were harassed for the whole time we played coh1. The only exception I can think of this would be that at one point I played with Hissyfit and was not harassed at that time despite playing the exact same way I would with IronRoman, although that also changed when Hissyfit joined Reborn.
It was about this time that we stopped playing nice with Reborn. It was clear after we had applied to multiple positions within GR and denied, only to be replaced with less competent Reborn members (a total of 11 applications from COHEXPERTS saw this result) that they were not interested in a community with portions not controlled by them (mojo as moderator, anyone?). we decided to return the favor by specifically targeting Reborn and Reborn allies (Hans, Pepsi, especially NTD). Keep in mind this whole time that Reborn frequently harassed us and we did NOT specifically target them. When it became more frequent that we were beating Reborn and their allies, we became the targets of unwarranted bans on GR, which were could only be appealed to one person, ntd. Furthermore, harassment would occur often in game, on GR it would often be unmoderated (although our posts were often invisibled), and of course our replies, appeals ignored.
COH2's release, although I expected a new playing field, due to Reborn's monopoly on individuals who have been selected from the 'community' to perform alpha/beta testing and other Relic hosted events have been able to seize the majority of the community into using coh2.org.
Specifically about Vonivan This subject is beaten to death and likely won't make it past moderation here. However, as many of the viewers on VonIvan's stream now, I am frequently playing 2v2s with him and you will rarely see him on without me saying "move your troops " in the chat box.
I'm not sure if we're trying to lie to make ourselves look better or what. But both sides harass the other. The point of all of this is pointing out that Reborn harasses everybody and uses their position to prevent repercussions. We are Reborn's enemy because we aren't intimidated by Reborn or their current hold on the community.
In fact, to get to my close statement due to the fact that there is a monsoon currently hitting Seoul, COHEXPERTS is not going to be backing down from Reborn. At this moment, we're actively calling on the authorities above Reborn to view the problems caused by Reborn for the development of the COH community. Do we really want a community dominated by one group of people, who discourage competition and different meta and advocates bans those that they don't like? You all have actively judged us, but have done nothing to maintain the quality in the leadership that Relic themselves put into place through nothing more than pure laziness to examine their own game's community. Or perhaps they can't because any opposition to that leadership is censored...
Reborn, you've never successfully pissed me off before. But, congratulations, you've done it. I can not stand cowards. You are so scared of someone beating you at a game, to challenge your dominance of a small community of virtual people, that you are willing to straight up ban people?
Consider this like a declaration of war. Virtual style. COHEXPERTS existed as a counterforce to you before, but now will only serve in one purpose, to make your stupidity apparent and your popularity diminish.
